Next time you walk through the ricefields in Ubud Bali be sure to visit Fly Café in Lungsiakan. It's on the fabulous walking loop from Campuhan Bridge. Fly Café is the best value restaurant in Ubud offering local, international, and vegetarian cuisine.

My travel highlight was Lopburi, Thailand. A thoroughly charming small town which is home to a large troupe of mischievous monkeys, it was a pleasure to weave in and out of the streets of the old town, exchange a few smiles or words with the sweet locals, and get to know the expat community, which happened to gather regularly at the restaurant attached to my accommodation, the Noom Guesthouse. I love quirky, cosy places.

Hope your new year is filled with unexpected delights! :D
