Schlafen Around.
March 5th, 2009
I have some wunderbar news for ALL of my German fans! Sleeping Around is currently being translated (by a German fellow living in Mexico) for a September launch through Eichborn Publishing in Germany. I think the book could be quite popular over there (which is good for me!) because the Germans love Couch Surfing. Out of the 232 ‘Unique Countries Represented’ Germany comes it at number two for the most members with 89,727 (behind the Americans). And, out of the 55,205 cities represented, Berlin comes in at number three (behind Paris and London) with 12,659 members. The translated book will be somewhat shorter than the English version, though. It’s because the Germans like using long words like Kugelschreiber instead of pen or, my favourite, Busenhalter instead of bra!
There is also talk of me doing a publicity tour over there while on a couch surfing tour of Germany. That sounds great to me. Then I get to drink lots of German beer and eat lots of wurst and Kartoffel Puffers.
