Happy Birthday to my blog.
July 18th, 2009
I began the blogging caper one year ago today! So thank you blogees for reading my somewhat regular blogs. And the stats haven’t been too bad either. In my first year of blogging (with 72 blog posts) my site had 33,461 hits. And while I’m stat-ing away here I can tell you that my most visited blog was The biggest snowman ever in this world! with 1,236 hits. It’s my most visited blog because ‘the world’s biggest snowman’ is also one of the biggest search engine terms used to get to my site (which means that they are after stories about big snowmen and have very little interest in a travel writer from Australia). There has been some very worrying search engine ‘terms’ used, however. There are a lot of folk out there searching for ’sex Patong girls pussy’ and ‘Thai ping pong show’ who have ended up on my site and, even more worryingly there’s a whole bunch of people searching for ‘swamp eel inside pussy’.
I did think that my blogs stats were quite good until I did a search for the most visited blog in the world. I found two that are ‘claimed’ to be the most visited blogs in the world. The first one is by a Chinese writer called Han Han. Apparently his blog has had (at last count) over 219 million hits and pulls in visitors at a rate of more than 200 every second. According the Guinness World Records the ‘MOST UNIQUE USERS ON A PERSONAL BLOG IN 24 HOURS’ is celebrity Japanese blogger Yusuke KAMIJI’s whose blog was read by the 230,755 unique visitors in one day. I’ve only got a little ways to go then – my record for one day is 478.
