For those that missed my launch…

February 6th, 2009

… and missed me rambling and waffling on about my new book then you can listen to me rambling and waffling on about my new book on the radio. The first interview was on ABC Life Matters (listen here) - with special guest live via satellite – my Icelandic Couch Surfing host Smari McCarthy). The other interview was on Melbourne ABC 774 (listen here) with Richard Stubbs. And if you haven’t had enough of me by then you can listen to me live on JOY 94.9 this Saturday at 12.00 midday (Melbourne time) or listen anywhere in the world on the live-streaming- thingy online.

    Hey Brian.

I wanted to send you an e-mail to tell you how much I loved Sleeping Around but my computer is not co-operating so I have to send you an e-mail through this comments box thingy.

Anyways, I bought your book early January while at Melbourne airport (I live in Williamstown). I was off on a little Auckland Adventure by myself for 4 days to go to a concert. I had never been anywhere outside of Victoria by myself before so it was a huge thing for me even if it was only 4 days.
So I read your book while I was away (ok, I didn’t finish it in NZ because I was doing stuff but I finished it not long after I go back). I found it so funny. I especially liked your recount from Chicago. I thought Bob and his friends were hilarious.
Sleeping Around has inspired me to go on my own little couch surfing adventure. I might do a short one focused within a particular area because my free time is limited but school holidays, I guarantee, I will be out here experiencing the free-loading lifestyle.

Thanks for the book. I’m recommending it to all of my friends. I’m going to read your others now because I enjoyed it so much.

    Lauren

P.S I read your bio and although I agree that Buffy is a good show (a bit lame but I do have the box set. Shame.), it is really not cool to tell people that you like it. Just from my experience, anyway. But in case you were wondering I thought season 3 was the best.

Hi Brian, I had a good chuckle through your interviews, funny stuff. Planning to get my hands on a copy of ‘Sleeping Around’ soon. Love your work, and how you take things way to seriously ;)

We also both share a passion for beers of the world, and I’m trying my hardest to (over)sample as many fantastic drops as possible!

    Good luck with the book.
    Cheers
    Anthony
