I’m off tomorrow for the second half of my trip using the original 1975 Lonely Planet ‘South East Asia on a Shoestring’ guidebook (read about it here). I’ll be getting hopelessly lost and quite often completely disoriented in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. I’m starting in Malaysia which back in 75 was the home to the ‘world’s best porridge’ (according to Tony Wheeler). I have some wunderbar news for ALL of my German fans! Sleeping Around is currently being translated (by a German fellow living in Mexico) for a September launch through Eichborn Publishing in Germany. I think the book could be quite popular over there (which is good for me!) because the Germans love Couch Surfing. Out of the 232 ‘Unique Countries Represented’ Germany comes it at number two for the most members with 89,727 (behind the Americans). And, out of the 55,205 cities represented, Berlin comes in at number three (behind Paris and London) with 12,659 members… (read more)
