The Melbourne Couch Surfing Summer Fest.

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

It’s only one week till the ‘official’ launch of ‘Sleeping Around – A couch surfing tour of the globe’. And although the book has been in bookshops for a couple of weeks I timed my launch to coincide with the 1st Melbourne CS Summer Fest. Amongst them you will find photos of small people devouring huge slabs of meat… (read more)

That interview went quite well particularly since I had a bad cold and had to keep wiping my dripping nose with my sleeve. But, I did make a bit of an ass of myself in the middle of the interview, however… (read more)

Sleeping Around goes on sale today! (or last week)

Monday, January 5th, 2009

My new book ‘Sleeping Around – A Couch Surfing Tour of the Globe’ hits the shelves in Australia today! Although some bookshops have been selling it for a while apparently. I’ve had quite a few emails from readers who had not only already bought it, but had finished reading it. Everyone has been very complimentary so far, though, which is always nice. I also got my first review from ‘Australian Bookseller & Publisher magazine’ which went like this:

Brian Thacker is no newcomer to the writing of a great travel narrative, having previously penned such greats as Rule No. 5: No Sex on the Bus, Where’s Wallis? and I’m not Eating any of that Foreign Muck… (read more)
